EFHOH 2025 Conference and the Annual General Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia: A resounding success!
As we wrap up intense and inspiring events in Tallinn, Estonia, we want to warmly thank Eesti Vaegkuuljate Liit, our member organization, for hosting us so excellently during our Conference and 2025 Annual General Meeting.
On 25 April 2025, the conference “Achieving Equality for Hard of Hearing People” gathered more than 100 people, addressing themes such as Sustainable Work Life for Hard of Hearing People, Hearing Care as Integral Part of Sustainable Working Life, and Developments in Technology Enabling Hearing Access. Heartfelt thank you to our host, speakers and attendees who made the event such a success.
Following the conference, we held on 26 April 2025, EFHOH’s 2025 Annual General Meeting, where we presented our Impact Report 2024, outlined the Action Plan for 2025, and introduced the Strategy for 2026–2030, setting ambitious goals for the next five years. We also announced the launch of our new website, beautifully designed by Jonathan Elebjörk Wahlström.
We have warmly welcomed two new organizations to our membership: Unga Hörselskadade from Sweden and Associació Catalana per a la Promoció de les Persones Sordes (ACAPPS) from Catalonia. It is great to see Youth organisations and more countries joining the European Hard of Hearing movement.
The AGM gave a strong mandate to the EFHOH Board by re-electing our President, Lidia Best, General Secretary, Claire Landesmann, and Treasurer, Darja Pajk, for another two-year term as a sign of a vote of confidence in the direction the board is taking the organisation.
The AGM also delivered a strong and powerful message to manufacturers: “Hands off our Telecoil”, highlighting the need to maintain Telecoils in the hearing aids and cochlear implants to ensure equal, effective, and accessible communication for hard of hearing people in all settings.
Thank you to our Member, Eesti Vaegkuuljate Liit, for hosting this year’s very successful events and our members for actively participating in the events, showing their strong commitment to advancing the rights of hard of hearing people across Europe.
We look forward to working together to achieve even greater progress in the years to come!
