From 1 to 3 July 2025, the World Health Organization and the International Telecommunication Union hosted the 10th anniversary Consultation Meetings of the Make Listening Safe Initiative in Geneva, marking a decade of joint global action to make recreational listening safer for all.
Our President Lidia Best, as co-chair of the Make Listening Safe Workstream and part of the Initiative with EFHOH since its launch in 2015, took part in the discussions shaping the next chapter of safe listening, ensuring the voices of hard of hearing people remain central to future planning.
We celebrate 10 years of global advocacy and recommit to a future where no one loses their hearing due to unsafe listening habits.
