On 16–17 October 2025, EFHOH Board and staff attended the CIICA Conference in Brussels, bringing together CI advocates, researchers, policymakers, and professionals to explore how science and lived experience can advance hearing accessibility.
EFHOH President Lidia Best spoke at the panel “Adults: Advocating for Lifelong Services”, highlighting the importance of collaboration and leadership in hearing advocacy: “You can’t do anything by yourself, speaking as an alliance and united voice gets us further.”
Our Board Member, Darja Pajk, also spoke at the panel and shared her personal experience with hearing loss, contributing to a strong collective message on inclusion and visibility.
EFHOH was also pleased to meet MEP Zala Tomašič and Rob Beenders, Belgian Minister of Consumer Affairs and Equal Opportunities — and the first Belgian Minister with a cochlear implant — whose words and example underscored the power of representation.
