On 28 January 2026, EFHOH took part in the Disability Intergroup New Year’s Reception at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The reception marked an important opportunity to celebrate the start of the year and to initiate discussions on priorities for the second half of the European Disability Rights Strategy 2021–2030. The event included interventions by MEP Alex Saliba, and Ana Carla Pereira, Director at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST), who emphasised the importance of sustained political leadership and effective implementation to advance disability rights at the EU level.
For EFHOH, the reception provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with institutional stakeholders, disability organisations, and partners, exchange perspectives on shared priorities, and strengthen cooperation in support of the rights of hard of hearing people across Europe.
