On 21 January 2026, EFHOH held its annual Leadership Meeting, bringing together member organisations from across Europe to align on priorities for the year ahead and to exchange on national developments, challenges, and good practices.

The meeting marked the first collective policy discussion of 2026 and provided an important opportunity to present EFHOH’s working plan and strategic focus for the year, while ensuring that its European-level advocacy remains closely connected to the lived realities and policy contexts of its national members.

A central objective of the Leadership Meeting was to gather feedback and views from national members to inform EFHOH’s contribution to the ongoing consultation on the European Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The exchange of perspectives supported a shared understanding of current challenges and priorities relevant to hearing access at the European level.

The meeting also reaffirmed the importance of strengthening collaboration with national members through structured coordination and ongoing dialogue, with the aim of ensuring that advocacy efforts remain informed, coordinated, and impactful.

Looking ahead

By aligning strategic priorities early in the year and actively engaging its network, EFHOH reinforces its role as a key European voice for hard of hearing people. Throughout 2026, EFHOH will continue to engage with European institutions and stakeholders to promote hearing accessibility, equal access to services, and the full participation of hard of hearing people across Europe.
