EFHOH is pleased to announce that it has joined the EUFunds4IL Coalition, launched by the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL).

The coalition calls for the next EU long-term budget to fully support the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and to ensure that EU funding promotes independent living, inclusion, and equal participation.

Despite significant EU resources, funding continues to support institutional and segregating services, while access to essential community-based support remains uneven and at risk. The coalition advocates for a shift in funding priorities to ensure that resources are directed towards services that enable independent living.

Key demands include:

  • Implementing the UN CRPD as a core objective of the EU budget
  • Increasing investment in social inclusion and equal treatment
  • Strengthening accountability through the involvement of organisations of persons with disabilities

By joining the coalition, EFHOH supports a common call for EU funds to be used in line with fundamental rights, to promote independent living and to ensure that no person with a disability is left behind.
