On 18 April 2026 in Brussels, EFHOH hosted its Annual General Meeting, bringing together its members across Europe to review the past year and set priorities for the future.
The AGM provided the opportunity to review EFHOH’s work and impact, with the presentation of the Impact Report 2025, alongside the Action Plan for 2026 and the Strategy for 2027–2030, outlining our direction and strategy in the years ahead.
A key moment for EFHOH’s leadership was marked by the election of the new EFHOH Board for the upcoming mandate. EFHOH warmly congratulates Ida Hansson (Unga Hörselskadade, Sweden) and Paulina Lewandowska (SUITA, Poland) on their election as new Board Members, whose mandate will begin shortly.
EFHOH and its members took the opportunity to warmly thank Alf Lindberg for his commitment and valuable contributions to the organisation over the last years, wishing him all the best as he stepped down from the Board and will still be involved in external action in monitoring the EAA and AVMSD.
Three new member organisations from Italy, Malta and Turkey were also warmly welcomed to EFHOH, reflecting its continued growth and the expansion of its network across Europe.
Another key outcome of the AGM was the adoption of the new position statement on the accessibility of hearing technologies in public procurement. Building on ongoing advocacy and last year’s AGM conclusions, the statement calls for both telecoil and Auracast functionalities to be included as standard requirements in publicly funded hearing devices.
The AGM concluded with the adoption of the Brussels Declaration, which brought together the key priorities shared by the European hard of hearing community throughout the conference and AGM and will serve as a foundation for the development of a future EU Strategy on Hearing Loss.
Overall, discussions and outcomes from this year’s AGM highlighted a strong level of engagement among members and a shared commitment to moving priorities forward at the European level.
