At EFHOH, we work to make life better for hard-of-hearing people across Europe. Our goal is to ensure equal rights and access for everyone, no matter their level of hearing.

What We Do

We advocate at the European level to influence policies and laws that impact hard-of-hearing people. This means we:

  • Work with the European Union (EU) and Council of Europe to promote accessibility and inclusion.
  • Cooperate with governments and decision-makers to improve rights for hard-of-hearing people.
  • Support the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
  • Push for better access to hearing aids, captioning, hearing loops, and assistive technology.
  • Raise awareness about the needs of hard-of-hearing people in public transport, workplaces, healthcare, and education.

How We Make a Difference

We work closely with other organizations, including the European Disability Forum (EDF), hearing loss associations, and accessibility experts. Together, we:

  • Speak up for hard-of-hearing people in meetings and events at the European level.
  • Publish reports and recommendations to guide policymakers.
  • Run campaigns to raise awareness of hearing accessibility needs.
  • Support our member organizations in their advocacy work.

By working together, we can create a more inclusive and accessible Europe for all hard-of-hearing people.
