AI for Hearing Access: Opportunities, Risks and the Future of Inclusion
EFHOH invites you to join our webinar “AI for Hearing Access: Opportunities, Risks and the Future of Inclusion,”exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping hearing accessibility, communication access, and inclusion for hard of hearing people.
Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly integrated into the technologies and services that many hard of hearing people rely on every day, from automatic captioning and speech-to-text applications to hearing technologies and communication support tools. These developments have the potential to transform accessibility and participation, but they also raise important questions about reliability, inclusion, privacy, ethics, and governance.
This webinar aims to encourage a balanced discussion on both the opportunities and risks that AI presents for hard of hearing people. Bringing together perspectives from AI experts, hearing technology, disability advocacy, accessibility, and the hard of hearing community, the discussion will explore how innovation can support greater inclusion while ensuring that the experiences and needs of people with hearing loss remain at the centre.
Date: 16 July 2026
Time: 16:00 – 17:30 CEST
Location: Online (Zoom)
The webinar will be supported by Real-Time Speech-to-Text captioning to ensure accessibility.
