On 28 March 2025, EFHOH President Lidia Best delivered a strong message at the conference “Raising Awareness of the Potential of People with Disabilities in Social and Professional Life,” co-organised by the Polish Government and the European Commission under the Polish EU Presidency.
As she spoke: “Accessibility is a precondition to participation, yet many hard of hearing Europeans are unable to follow live news or debates, or take part in social events, simply because our access needs, like hearing loops, speech-to-text, or subtitling, are not seen as important parts of inclusive practices.”
We thank the Polish Presidency team and Secretary of State Łukasz Krasoń for spotlighting the voices of people with disabilities and for inviting EFHOH to raise awareness about hearing loss and inclusion.
