A strong message was brought to the table: emergency communication must be accessible for all. Inclusion should be built into digital transformation from the start and innovation has to be developed with users, not around them.
In the Firechat on emerging technologies, EFHOH clearly underlined the importance of maintaining both Telecoil and Auracast on hearing aids and Cochlear Implants, ensuring interoperability, user choice, and no exclusion during technological transitions.
Beyond the panels, the event was a valuable space to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaborations. The energy, determination and commitment across the disability community remain powerful drivers of change.
Thank you to the organisers and to everyone who engaged with us, we move forward with renewed momentum and partnerships.
