We are very pleased to present the “Sound of the Office”, a new illustration with comics created to raise awareness about the everyday experiences of hard of hearing professionals in the workplace.
Funded by the European Association of Hearing Care Professionals and produced by the European Federation of Hard of Hearing People, the Sound of the Office is an invitation to have fun with cartoons, to relate to experiences of hard of hearing professionals and to learn more about what can each person do to ensure inclusive and accessible employment to persons with hearing loss.
The Sound of the Office brings illustrations of Maria Skoczyńska, curated and edited by Lidia Best, in an honest, humorous and relatable way, and it complements the Hearing Loss Inclusive Employment Toolkit (2026) and the report on Employment and Reasonable Accommodation for Hard of Hearing People in Europe (2025) launched by EFHOH, by encouraging reflection on the barriers, challenges and solutions taking place in the workplace, and providing a guide to good practices of inclusion.
