Yesterday, EFHOH concluded its debut participation in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Study Group 1, Question 5 meeting in Geneva.
This Question has a four-year mandate focused on topics that closely align with EFHOH’s objectives: consumer protection and empowerment, and meaningful accessibility for all, particularly for persons with disabilities and persons with specific needs.
Our President represents EFHOH in the work of this Study Group in her role as Vice-Rapporteur. As our first contribution to the discussions, we presented a preliminary report on the availability of Telecommunication Relay Services across the European Union, with a particular focus on Video Relay Services (VRS) and Text Relay Services (TRS).
Our findings will contribute to an upcoming Study Group report, helping shape discussions on accessible telecommunications and consumer empowerment. Learn more about Question 5.
We look forward to continuing our active participation and contributing to this important work over the coming years.
