On 3 December 2025, EFHOH President Lidia Best participated as a speaker at the conference The Future of EU Legislation on Emergency Communications, hosted by the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) in Brussels.
During her intervention, Lidia Best highlighted the persistent barriers that hard of hearing people encounter when trying to access 112 services. Lidia Best stressed the urgent need for accessible, reliable, and hearing loss-friendly pathways to emergency communication and information, and called for stronger national implementation and monitoring to ensure such standards are met across all Member States.
EFHOH welcomed the opportunity to contribute to this discussion and will continue to advocate for emergency services that are fully accessible for hard of hearing people, ensuring the right to safety for everyone.
