EFHOH is proud to announce that it has become a member of the International Telecommunication Union’s Development Sector, ITU-D.

This is a major achievement for EFHOH and an important step in strengthening our collaboration with ITU. Membership gives EFHOH a more direct role in international discussions on digital development, connectivity and accessibility, helping ensure that the experiences of hard of hearing people are taken into account.

EFHOH will contribute its expertise on accessible communication, assistive technologies, hearing accessibility and barrier-free digital and public services. This includes promoting solutions such as captioning, accessible emergency communications, assistive listening systems and inclusive digital platforms.

The membership also creates new opportunities to exchange knowledge, contribute to relevant initiatives and collaborate with organisations working to make digital technologies and services more inclusive.

Digital development must be inclusive by design. By joining ITU-D, EFHOH will continue working to ensure that people with hearing loss are represented in the development of accessible and sustainable digital solutions.

We look forward to building on this collaboration and to the new opportunities ahead!
